Engineering Open House November 1, 2025

The Engineering Open House is an all-day event where you and your guests will interact with engineering professors and current students who will guide you in exploring engineering majors, co-ops and internships, scholarships and more. You will also tour engineering facilities and our residential community to experience what it’s like to be a UK Engineering student.

Engineering For All October 1, 2025

Engineering For All is a special event hosted by the Pigman College of Engineering designed for future engineers and their families to connect with student organizations such as the National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, and other groups to get answers to all your questions about engineering courses, internships, co-ops and campus resources, and more.

UK Engineering receives record number of NSF CAREER awards

Six Pigman College of Engineering faculty members received National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) awards, the Foundation's  prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty, in the 2025 funding cycle.  This year, the Pigman College of Engineering recorded its highest number of NSF CAREER awardees in the 30-year history of the program. In addition, the college boasted a 75% success rate for CAREER awards in the 2025 funding cycle. 

Paterson earns 2 prestigious national awards for research, innovation

Alexandra F. Paterson’s research paves the way for more reliable and innovative technologies that could benefit health care, manufacturing and everyday life. For her work, she has earned two prestigious national awards for early-career faculty: the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Young Faculty Award.

Brent Seales, heritage science chair in the Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky, has been awarded a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Synergy Grant as part of an international team seeking to unlock the secrets of the Herculaneum scrolls.
